WEEK 8 FOOTBALL PICKS (2011)

Let's look at some of the exciting highlights from last weeks football action. In High School, the Gaffney Indians came back from their off week and picked up where they left off, as they routed Clover 55 to 3 and Boiling Springs went to Dorman and came home with a 31 to 28 victory over the Cavaliers. In College, Clemson stayed undefeated with a 36 to 14 victory over Boston College and South Carolina got a very good game from QB Conner Shaw, as they blew out Kentucky 54 to 3. In the NFL, the Carolina Panthers let another close game get away, as they lost to New Orleans 30 to 27 and Green Bay went into Atlanta and beat the Falcons 25 to 14. The Carolina Panthers have to be the most interesting 1 and 4 team that I have seen.

The ArmChair Coach went 8 and 2 in football picks last week. My record for the season is 64 and 16 for a percentage of .800. Let's look at this weeks games.

HIGH SCHOOL GAMES

Gaffney @ Rock Hill..... District 3 Stadium in Rock Hill has been a house of horrors for the Gaffney Indians over the years. This time the horrors will be on the Bearcats..... Gaffney 49 Rock Hill 10
For a more in depth preview of this game, you can click on the Tribe Blitz link on this page.

Southside Christian @ Landrum..... The Cardinals have had a very good season and it continues with another victory this week..... Landrum 24 Southside Christian 20

Clover @ Spartanburg..... This is a huge game in Region 3 4A, as both of these teams are coming off losses last week. They can't afford to start region play 0 and 2. The Vikings should prevail..... Spartanburg 31 Clover 14

Boiling Springs @ Wren..... The question here is, how does the Bulldogs handle prosperity after their big win at Dorman? I say pretty good. It should be a shootout..... Boiling Springs 45 Wren 35

COLLEGE GAMES

Clemson @ Maryland..... The Tigers head out on the road for another test in a hostile environment. They passed their first road test with flying colors and they should pass this one as well..... Clemson 34 Maryland 21

South Carolina @ Mississippi State..... Carolina QB Conner Shaw makes his first road start in the SEC. It won't be easy, but they will get it done..... South Carolina 23 Mississippi State 14

Georgia Tech @ Virginia..... The Georgia Tech option offense was slowed last week against Maryland, but they still won the game. They will get it cranked back up this week..... Georgia Tech 43 Virginia 24

NFL GAMES

Carolina @ Atlanta..... The Panthers are the most entertaining 1 and 4 team that I have seen. They need to learn how to win games. They will come close again, but..... Atlanta 23 Carolina 20

St. Louis @ Green Bay..... The Packers have been on a roll and I look for them to roll over the Rams..... Green Bay 38 St. Louis 13

Philadelphia @ Washington..... The Skins have been a surprise and the Eagles have been a disappointment. Who will win this one? I have a hunch that it will be..... Philadelphia 20 Washington 16

Until Next Time.
