WEEK 16 FOOTBALL PICKS (2011)

Santa came early for the Byrnes Rebels last Saturday, as the Gaffney Indians gave them four turnovers and a State Championship, in the Rebels 31 to 24 victory at Clemson. He also came early for the Clemson Tigers and their fans, as they were able to win the ACC Championship, that has eluded them for 20 years, with a win over Virginia Tech 38 to 10.

The ArmChair Coach went 5 and 5 in football picks last week. My record for the season is 122 and 38 for a percentage of .763. Let's look at this weeks picks.

NFL GAMES

Atlanta @ Carolina..... The Panthers have won two in a row. The question is can they win three in a row? They come close, but..... Atlanta 23 Carolina 21

Oakland @ Green Bay..... The Packers found another way to stay unbeaten last week against the Giants. They should have an easier time this week..... Green Bay 37 Oakland 17

Philadelphia @ Miami..... Two teams that look like they are headed in opposite directions, the Eagles look like they have quit and the Dolphins are getting better..... Miami 20 Philadelphia 17

Chicago @ Denver..... Can Tim Tebow win again? Yes he can and he will..... Denver 24 Chicago 19

New Orleans @ Tennessee..... The Saints look like the biggest obstacle between the Packers and another Super Bowl appearance. They roll again..... New Orleans 34 Tennessee 24

New England @ Washington..... The Patriots look like they might be the team to beat in the AFC. The roll through the Nation's Capital..... New England 31 Washington 14

Minnesota @ Detroit..... I see the Vikings giving the Lions all they want in this one. The Lions will win a close one..... Detroit 26 Minnesota 21

San Francisco @ Arizona..... This is another game that will probably be closer than people think..... San Francisco 23 Arizona 16

NY Giants @ Dallas..... This is a huge game in the NFC East. Does anyone want to win this Division? The Cowboys make a statement..... Dallas 20 NY Giants 17

Buffalo @ San Diego..... The Bills seem to be slipping back down to reality of not being a contender. The Chargers are not that good either..... San Diego 20 Buffalo 14

DID YOU KNOW? Carolina's Cam Newton broke the NFL record for rushing TDs last week against Tampa Bay. The record was 12 and he scored 3 TDs last week and now has 13 for the season. He will probably add to that number before season's end.

DID YOU KNOW? Clemson won their first ACC Championship since 1991, last Saturday night, with their win over Virginia Tech. It is also the first time they have won as many as 10 games in a season since 1990.

Until Next Time.
